DIY jewelry organizer

Since we moved, my jewelry has been all mixed and tangled together in a wicker basket. I looked around other blogs' diy posts for some ideas for a jewelry organizer. I came up with this- it was a very spur-of-the-moment project. I kept changing it up and grabbing random things in my house as I thought of them. Best part is, I didn't spend a penny!

Here's how I did it: I had an old corkboard with a white frame. There were some words written on the cork so I decided I must paint it. I was thinking white would look good, but as I was going to look through some of my little sister's paints, I saw that awesome teal aqua color and I went with that. Then, I wanted to hang some twine across it, like I saw in some other examples, but I didn't want it to slide off the frame because its a little slippery. So I came up with buttons. Luckily, there was a box of sewing materials in the cabinet right behind me. I glued on some buttons with gorilla glue. Then I tied on my twine. I made some knots in it, as notches, thinking that it would help the jewelry not run into each other. I found a silver ribbon and tied that on top for embellishment. Then I hammered in some nails to hang rings or bracelets on.

I know the materials are all super random, but that color really makes me really happy! oh I feel so accomplished and organized now.
